ALLERGY POLICY:
We have no control over what individual students, families, education staff or other facility guests might bring for their food needs on a daily basis. When we are alerted to a food allergy situation, the most we can do is ask students and education staff to carefully wash their hands with soap and water after eating.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:
All program registration payments are final and nonrefundable. If the FRC or a program facility cancels a program you will receive a full refund. We automatically inform you of the refund. You have the option of keeping the refund on file to use on another program or receiving a refund check. If you cannot make a program that you are registered for, you may transfer your reservation to another family. Please be sure to inform us of the family's name so they are properly added to the program registration list.
CHAPERONE POLICY-Parental Supervision:
A parent must accompany their child on every FRC field trip. The FRC does not provide child care services nor does it take on the responsibility for your children's safety and well-being during any of our programs. Parents must be with their children (on the premesis of the field trip site) at all times during any FRC field trip and they are completely responsible for the monitoring of their own children. Unless otherwise stated in writing or on the FRC website, in all cases, every parent should understand they are responsible for the care and well-being of their own children and not presume to leave that responsibility to any FRC staff person or museum educator.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:
Most of our programs are rain, snow or shine events. We will only cancel an event if the facility itself closes due to inclement weather or emergency. There are no refunds or credits if you choose not to attend a program due to inclement weather or personal emergency. If we do have to cancel a program due to inclement weather we will post a notice on our website and email you directly. We will ask you to confirm receipt of the cancellation notice and if we do not hear from you in a reasonable amount of time, we will leave a message on your house phone and or call your cell phone, if we have one on file. When in doubt about a cancellation it is your responsibility to contact us (via phone, email or web) to inquire about program status. If the FRC or a program facility cancels a program you will receive a full refund (see CANCELLATION POLICY above).
MEDICATION POLICY:
Neither the FRC staff nor any educational program staff will administer any sort of medication to your student. Any student, who is required to take during the program, Over-the-Counter medications or a medication prescribed by a licensed physician, advanced registered nurse practitioner, or licensed physician's assistant, shall be supervised in taking medication, by the student’s parent who shall be responsible for administering the medication and monitoring the student's well-being thereafter. (refer to Chaperone Policy below).
PRICING POLICY:
Membership Fees:
Annual membership fees are charged per homeschooling family. Members of the FRC receive the Exploring Our Museums Coupon Book FREE with membership and have access to the password protected newsletter and can register for field trips at a discounted rate, prior to the events being opened up to the general homeschooling community. Members also enjoy full membership benefits of the organization. Annual membership fees off-set annual operating expenses of this privately owned business. All membership fees are final and nonrefundable.
Program Pricing:
Most Museum and Community facilities that offer educational programming to school groups charge either a flat group fee or a per participant fee for their special group programs or docent led tours. These tours and programs are offered to educational groups and not offered to the general public for the regular admission fees charged.
The FRC will calculate the business expense of running the field trip and add that to the fee we are being charged by the facility. We then calculate member and non-member registration rates by dividing the total cost by the estimated number of participants we expect to register for the program. In most cases the FRC member rate is lower than the individual admission rate at each facility.
Minimum Family Fees:
Some field trips sites offer groups their special programs or tours at no charge. The FRC charges a flat family fee for these trips in order to cover the basic operating expenses involved with researching sites, scheduling trips, advertising to the homeschool community and taking registrations.
Non-member Fees:
In most cases, non-members of the FRC will pay an average of $5 more per person, per program than an FRC member. We encourage non-members to try out an FRC field trip then consider joining our organization in order to save on all future trips and take advantage of full membership benefits.
