Volunteers Needed
An important and exciting way for parents and other adults to be involved is to accompany our class to EarthWorks and help students in the field stations with their experiments. We will need 18 adult volunteers to stay on-site during the student visit in order to make our EarthWorks visit a success. All other adults should plan to check-in their students no later than 9:45am and return to pick up their students no later than 2:45pm. Adults are welcome to hang out in the Exchange City space, also located in the same building adjacent to EarthWorks. We cannot accommodate nonparticipating siblings in this space. There is a local mall to visit and area eateries for adults with children dropping off EarthWorks participants.
All adult volunteers will have a brief orientation at EarthWorks about the program just before we get started on the day of the student's visit.
If you would like to volunteer please notify the Family Resource Center of New England directly.Volunteers are selected on a first come, first serve basis. We will fill 16 spots for participating volunteers first, then add 2 back-up volunteers who must also attend the orientation and be available incase one of the other volunteers become unavailable on the day of the site-visit.
For the orientation, make sure that you:
- wear comfortable clothing and shoes;
- know which habitat you have been assigned (obtain this information from the FRC);
- arrange for childcare (we cannot accommodate nonparticipating younger siblings);
